- Two recent "happenings" come to mind, which for me, pretty much sums up what Michael is about.
- The first happened after he was first incarcerated. He phoned me and during the conversation mentioned (once again) that he was cold. This puzzled me because I knew that he had recently received extra socks with his commissary order. I asked him about this. He told me that he had given his extras to the guy next since he didn't have any.
- The second occurred this past Valentine's Day. My daughter-in-law called to tell me that when she arrived at the office that morning there were roses, Hershey kisses, and a card on her desk. Michael had made arrangements (through family friends) for this to be done.
- I could write pages of "Michael tales" just like these. Is he perfect? No! But neither am I Or you! But he is our Michael&emdash;son, brother, husband, father, friend. And I can't begin to tell you what our family has gone through&emdash;watching this gentle, silly soul die a little each day knowing that no matter what happens he will never be the same.
- The only thing I can ask is what I have been asking all along. Do not judge until you have looked at the full picture&emdash;walk with Michael, Robert, Maurice, and Forrest. Ask questions&emdash;seek answers. Then decide. Give them a chance. Would you want less for your loved one?
